  • 15/08/06 I always said Dirty Pretty Things are well safe, but now they're really living up to it by playing a special gig at The Coronet, in South London on September 13th in support of Make Roads Safe. This is part of an international campaign calling for the G8 to take action on road traffic injuries, which kill more than 1.2 million people around the world, the majority in developing countries. Two hundred pairs of tickets to the concert will be given away free by Make Roads Safe and Dirty Pretty Things to supporters in a prize draw. See the respective sites for details of how to enter and please sign their petition.
  • 04/08/06 If you're anything like me and like free CDs, but can't be arsed to run a website (also pretty much like me) then you'll be very glad to hear that you can obtain a free 2 track sampler of hot young punk-muffins Protest The Hero simply by sending your postal address to vagrantuk@vagrant.com and saying pretty please.
  • 05/05/06 The notorious Gay For Johnny Depp have been added to the Snickers stage at this years Download festival (9th, 10th and 11th of June at Donnington Park). Elsewhere on the line-up are Enter Shikari who also deserve a mention, just for fucking with my friends heads when I play them 'Return To Energiser'. Choooon.

They've also landed themselves a spot on Anti-Flag's European tour in May. Go see them, they rock live.
  • 28/02/06 Those kooky chaps at Crossfire are running a rather special competition to win a slot supporting The Paddingtons at a launch party! EDIT: this competition has closed to submissions now, but you can still vote...

  • 08/06/05 From the Hypertension mailout: "After 15 years of hushed whispers, infrequent live gigs, and a stubborn single minded adherence to their hardcore ethics, Starkweather are embarking on their first tour ever! From August 25th till September 4th they will be hitting the Ieperfest in Belgium on August 26th, followed by maniacal shows in the UK, Germany, France, The Netherlands with other dates to be announced soon. The tour will feature songs from their upcoming album "Croatoan", We're pulling out all the goods on this one: deluxe gatefold, Paul Romano artwork (Mastadon, Earth, Godflesh), coloured vinyl and with the tentative release date of the 2xLP set for August 15th, nothing will stop you from getting the collector's gem."

  • 12/03/05 Seminal '90s punk band Snuff are releasing a double CD greatest hits compilation. Released worldwide on Fat Wreck Chords and UK release on Snuff's own 10 past 12 Records. Disc one's set to be a career highlights greatest hits and disc two does the ever so fashionable b-sides and unreleased thing. Whilst we're on the subject of 10 past 12 Records, Snuff drummer Duncan's Billy No Mates have their first release 'We Are Legion' and The Fat Cats' (described as "A core love of rockabilly swing, dirty 50’s R&B, and cricket") release 'Deadbeat' later this month. Reviews will depend on how much they spend advertising with Blacklisted... smirk.

Thanks list:

  • All the labels who have sent us promos to review- we wouldn't be here without you man...sniff.
  • All the excellent bands we've interviewed
  • Laura Sanchez and Jamie for helping with reviews
  • Anyone who's given advice or contributed
  • Tom for help with interview questions

Apologies for the stupidly large amount of extra windows trying to sell you crap, entice to you casinos and pretending you've won something. They are arses and I have no control over them. But rest assured when the time comes I will reap my most terrible vengeance upon them.

Site News!
  • It's our friend the anti-anti-downloading petition! Please sign! (13/04/06)
  • I gone an done a Monkeys and got meself a MySpace- check me out, be my friend, I'm so very lonely... www.myspace.com/fashioncore - No, I'm not lying and yes, my name was chosen in jest...
  • So once again I have succeeded in completely forgetting I run a website for two months. The more the alcohol takes, the easier it gets, CLEARLY I don't know when to stop- still flogging a dead horse always was punk and indie's speciality. There's some new reviews over there if you're still talking to me. <<< (31/01/06)
  • Ooook, so I went to uni and there was some neglect to the site. Sorry. I don't have any actual news. Also I lied, I'm not sorry. (06/11/05)
  • Back! Now I know absolutely everything about anything, have dreads in my hair and wear only hemp clothing. I also have several tattoos of chinese symbols meaning things like 'peace' and 'courage'. Anyways, 5 reviews or so of varying goodness and interest are on the way... so hit me back homies!!! (11/08/05)
  • I'm off travelling! For the next six weeks I will be braving the wilds of Europe and therefore will not be reviewing or doing squat on the site, I put four reviews up today, they'll have to last you till I'm back. (27/06/05)
  • Tourdates page is gone because it was shit, the links are now on the links page- imaginative huh. Perhaps more importantly the news page has disappeared and been shifted to this page <<< see. I figure it may force me to update it more than twice a year. (12/03/05)
  • Also! You can now pay for things from the distro with Paypal! So now you can not buy things from me in a whole new way. (12/03/05)
  • I'm up to date on reviews now so everything I've received is up and on the site (09/03/05)
  • Apologies to any bands that have sent things for review and not seen it up yet, I got slack and have no one to blame but myself. Sorry.
  • Screw the printed zine- everyone who said I couldn't do it- you were right. It's too old now- all the features and interviews are out of date (the reviews were anyway). Respect anyone that puts one out every month- you're Gods. This is not to say that at some point I will not come back and tackle this. Oh yes. I'll be back. Oh yes...
  • Well, annoyingly, getting the zine printed is looking like its gonna be pretty expensive. The cheapest I've seen so far will mean a cover price of £1.20...
  • I've said buh-bye to the mesage board cos no one uses it and its crap and Boards2go are crap...There was a lotta crapness involved.
  • Annoyingly, Boards2Go have managed to lose all the information on the message board and of anyone who's ever signed up. This meant I had to re-register and thus all posts are gone. Nada. No more.
  • We have two kindly people involved with the Spanish punk scene who will be writing for us. One is Alvaro he used to work for Spanish punk label, Slidechorus, now he works for a booking agency as well as playing guitar in his band My Left Foot. Also we have Laura who writes for a whole host of music publications out there from Kerrang to zines (yay!). Give them a round of applause please folks.
  • The paper zine is nearing completion. Gradually. Everything on this site plus a bunch features and more reviews will be included.
  • Blacklisted website has arrived! Wooo! Yeh! So now the celebrations are over ( a six-pack and two party-poppers), we get to review, interview, comment and generally piss off as many people as we can possibly manage (without realising it) in the process. We also have to figure out a cunning plan to get people to buy the zine as well as visit the site. On top of this we have the job of having to struggle with Tripods 'user friendly' hyper mega interface de-bigullater, and our pea-sized bandwidth. Apart from that it should be fun. Any comments, suggestions, labels wishing to send promos etc to: iwasblacklisted'at'hotmail'dot'com .
